A full course of TMS in 2 to 5 days
Life moves pretty fast. Treating depression shouldn't take two months of your calendar.
Standard TMS means coming in every weekday for six to eight weeks. It works well, but for many people that schedule is hard to keep. Maybe you run a business, travel for work, or care for a family. Or maybe you simply can't wait that long to feel like yourself again.
Rapid TMS delivers several treatments in one day, spaced out with rest breaks, so your full course is complete in 2 to 5 days instead of 6 to 8 weeks.
Between sessions, you relax in our comfortable treatment suite. Read, work on your laptop, rest, or step outside. TMS requires no sedation, so you can drive yourself home and get on with your day.
Accelerated TMS isn't a shortcut. It is built on more than a decade of research into how the brain responds to repeated, spaced stimulation.
The best-known work comes from Stanford University, which tested a 5-day accelerated protocol in patients with treatment-resistant depression. In a double-blind, sham-controlled trial, 57% of patients who received active treatment were in remission immediately after the 5-day course, compared with none of those who received placebo treatment. Nearly 80% reached remission at some point during the following month. A second, larger randomized trial has since confirmed these results, and the Stanford protocol received FDA clearance in 2022.
Results are also strong outside of academic centers. A 2024 study of a practical 5-day accelerated protocol in an outpatient clinic found it was safe and produced marked improvements in both depression and anxiety that lasted at least four weeks.
For many patients, the benefits last for months. If symptoms return, the treatment can be repeated. Research shows that most patients who respond to a first course respond again to a second one.
Our protocols are informed by this research and are delivered on our own TMS systems, with a treatment plan tailored to you.
